Annabel Kaplan
Annabel Kaplan (she/her) is a Portland-based dance artist and educator. She grew up in Portland and began her dance training at Classical Ballet Academy under the direction of Sarah Rigles. In 2023, Annabel received her BFA in Dance from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Since returning to the Pacific Northwest, she has performed with Shaun Keylock Company, ProLab Dance, Pathways Dance Company, Éowyn Emerald and Dancers, and Karin Stevens Dance. She has presented work in Portland Dance Collective’s Many Voices Showcase, the Red Rock Dance Festival in St. George Utah, and the Umbrella Fringe Festival in Kirkland Washington. In addition to performing and making work, Annabel teaches students of all ages at Classical Ballet Academy and works in Education and Community Engagement for Oregon Ballet Theater. Annabel is thrilled to be participating in Chapel Theater’s Dance Residency Program, and is excited to present a new work alongside the other incredible resident artists!
Diana Schultz
Diana Schultz grew up in the theatre and dance world. An Alumni of American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Diana spent 15 years performing, directing, leading choreography projects, dancing with Trip the Dark Dance Company, Forgery Theatre Collective, and as a dance and theatre teacher for Oregon Children’s Theatre and Staged! Productions in Portland. An avid fan of all things Broadway & Fosse yet raised on 90’s hip hop. She loves collaborating with Chapel Theatre.
JmeJames Antonick
JmeJames Antonick (they/she) is a dance maker, choreographer, dancer, somatic practitioner, and nationally certified American Sign Language-English interpreter. Originally from Chicago, JmeJames graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 2013 with a BA in Dance and ASL-English Interpretation and studied at the Bay Area’s Moving On Center Somatic Dance Program in 2019.
JmeJames is co-founder and co-director of Trash Babe Productions. Trash Babes create performances and host events. Recently, Trash Babes built Trash Babe g’rAwj Studio, a DIY dance studio and performance space, and produced events including open decks for DJs and variety shows. JmeJames also makes short-form political comedy burlesque. They are currently learning programs and gear to developing their own sound scores for performance. JmeJames also interprets performance in the dance community, including works presented at PWNW and PICA’s TBA Festival.
JmeJames was a resident artist at FLOCK Dance Center from 2021–2023, selected for New Expressive Works’ Residency Cohort 14 in 2023, and Alembic Residency at Performance Works Northwest in 2024. JmeJames was also awarded RACC’s 2022 Make|Learn|Build artist grant. In 2025, JmeJames premiered their first evening-length work, XO-interstitium, at PWNW, a collaboration with Patsy Morris and sound by Geovanny Vega. IG: @TrashBabeProductions
