Spolin Foundations of American Improv

Spolin Foundations of American Improv
with Adrienne Flagg

In the 1930s, Viola Spolin began a revolution with her unique combination of social justice and a practical way of solving theatrical problems. Her work became the springboard for film, theatre, improvisation, and writing techniques that spawned the modern performance world.
In this 6-week course, taught by Drammy Award–winning actor and director ADRIENNE FLAGG, you’ll learn how games and play can deepen a connection between actors and bring more authentic, emotional performances to the stage. Spolin’s techniques are applicable to both short- and long-form improv as well as sketch and theatrical performance. Be prepared to move, to stretch your limits, and to approach your work with joy and curiosity. All levels welcome.
