Circle Theatre Project is so very proud to be welcomed into The Chapel Theater’s inaugural season with RED HOT PATRIOT. The play is the story of brassy newspaper columnist and best selling author Molly Ivins. A true Texas original, Ivins was a sharp-tongued wit who skewered the political establishment and the “good old boys” with her unforgettable humor and wit.
“Polarizing people is a great way to win an election and also a great way to wreck a country. Many a time freedom had been rolled back – and always for the same sorry reason: fear.”
“What you need is sustained outrage…there’s far too much unthinking respect given to authority.”
Theatermania calls RED HOT PATRIOT “a memorable portrait of a crusading journalist who broke gender barriers to establish herself as one of the nation’s most influential and compassionate political columnists.”
RED HOT PATRIOT will open during and in celebration of 2019’s genuinely historic Women’s History Month – on March 8, 2019. Performances will continue Friday/Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoon matinees through Sunday, March 24, 2019.
